Amazing Place – LinkedIn July 30, 2009
Oh the people I’ve met…
and the laughs I’ve had conversing with folks from all over the world since early 2008 when I got hooked on the Q&A on LinkedIn. There were those who wondered what I was doing engaging in this endeavor but the conversations are funny, intriguing, and informative. I’ve made friends from all over the planet. It brings together people from so many countries including Canada, Mexico, Latvia, India, Croatia, South Africa, England, Netherlands, Singapore and so many more. And people from all 50 United States, of course.
My involvement in this forum and gathering so many worthwhile connections gave me the idea and confidence enough to springboard my own relocation business this year that assists “regular Joes” in their selling, buying, moving process. Just yesterday I had a call from a gal who is moving from one West Coast city to another and has a ton on her plate and didn’t know where to start. The task, you must admit, can be very daunting.
What seems like a ton of work for her is straightforward for me. It’s what I do – connect “regular Joes” to the capable professionals they need to get every job done in the selling, buying, moving process. How do “regular Joes” typically find reputable, responsible professionals quickly to get this big job done? She was wise in contacting me. Within short order, I had the team in place to start assisting her so she and her husband can get a game plan going.
Before the end of the day, I was able to do the following for them:
- Find a reputable real estate company/agent to list and market their current home
- They are organized to meet with a household mover.
- They have been introduced to a reputable auto transporter.
- They have a reputable company/agent to assist them in finding a rental initially.
- They have a reputable company/agent to assist them in a purchase once their home sells
ONE PHONE CALL is all it took for them to get a plan. There was no combing the internet to piece it together. Gears switched immediately from stress to sanity. This gal knew of me through a group we’re both part of on LinkedIn. There is a certain baseline trust that develops when you are surrounded by others you all know. There is an honor code built in.
Invitation To You: If you are moving and have no corporate relocation assistance to connect the dots for you – to contact me for that assistance. Contact me so we can discuss your goals. I then go to work to find the professionals who will make it as straightforward as possible. They will be handpicked for your needs. The beauty for you is there is no added cost to your bottom line. Let’s talk. You’ll be glad we connected.
Wow Mary, I knew you were talented, but you are really the “go to” person for all things regarding relocation.
