Hire a mover or do it yourself? September 13, 2009
The question is whether to do a move yourself or hire a mover to do it for you.
First you will need to determine which makes more sense – saving money and doing it yourself or hiring a quality professional mover who will save your back and minimize the stress of moving your household goods.
Can you afford the time to pack and move yourself? Can your back stand the strain?
Many see the value in having a professional household mover do the job from start to finish but it’s for everyone to weigh out.
There are some pretty interesting do-it-yourself-rigs on the road. This particular one was found in Truckee, California during the summer. Imagine how many loads it would take to move a 3 bedroom house using something like this?
If you do decide to hire a mover, how will you find someone reputable and will you do some of the packing yourself or hire the mover to do all of it for you?
It is important, when you do hire a mover, that they send someone out to take a look at your earthly possessions so they know exactly what you’ve got. This will eliminate surprises for you and the mover.
Did you know your Mover must provide you “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move” handbook? It is a great resource for the consumer as the moving world remains a mystery to most people.
Often we just do not have the time to pack everything up ourselves but how in the world do you find a reputable mover?
That’s where we come in. If you would like us to locate a reputable mover for you – at no fee – please email or call ReloMary at Moving Links 4 You. We will remain available throughout the process.
